The journey
of my life started when I was born at village
Siahar in District
Ludhiana in the fall of 1977.
For me, my childhood was just a part of my sweet
life passed off under a family environment as
I was the youngest child to my parents. Used to
play with village-mates, run through our farms,
making houses of mud on my tiny feet and then give
them the artistic touch; nothing else, I would
play with my dreams, really dreams remained a
sweet part of my life.

When I was at
6, school became another home. I got surprised
when the final result of first class (grade) was
declared, I was topper in the class (grade).
People congratulated my parents and from that day
I never looked back. I remained topper at the school
from the first class (Grade) up to 10th class
(Grade). Hard work became part of my life.
When I
gaze my life, find scores of contours and turns
but it’s my mother who always supported me. I
dedicate my life to my mother MRS. RANJIT KAUR JI.
My dad MR. ATMA SINGH JI is a perfect example of
hard-work, honesty, and truthfulness; he is like a
role-model to follow and his image touched every
aspect of my life. In class (Grade) 6th, I wrote a
poem praising the bravery of Sikh Gurus in the
battle-field against the cruel rulers of that
time. This was my first step towards the doors of
literature.
As I grew up, I shifted my mind to social themes
like poverty, inequality, human rights,
environment etc. were my favorite topics. Wrote
hundreds of poems and stories on these topics. In
class 9th, I wrote a complete novel and in 10th I
finished off a patriotic play.
Even today,
writing remains my
profound love. When I feel a hurt inside my heart
or when I get a bouquet of happiness, writing is
the only medium which I use to express the inner
voice of my heart. This seems my basic instinct
how to shed tears in grief or dance with joy on
the sheet of paper. Besides,
I’m
a great lover of books and have more than 1000
books in my personal library. My favorite Indian
authors are Khushwant Singh, Ruskin Bond and
Shobha De.
In studies, I’m a Post-Graduate from Punjab
University Chandigarh, and had completed my
graduation from Government College Ludhiana. Also
I finished Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism &
Mass Communication from Punjabi University Patiala.
Professionally speaking, I’ve done Web-Designing and
Multimedia. Apart from it, I'm
well-versed in HTML, ASP, PHP, .Net scripts and
polished my hands in Photoshop, Flash,
Illustrator, Page Maker and QuarkXPress. Apart
from it, I'm familiar with Networking, MySQL
database and can work on both Windows and
Macintosh platforms. Additionally, I'm consummate
in VOIP, Data Streaming and Call Center technologies. Look-wise,
I’m 5’-9 tall, with slim body, wear
turban but trim beard.
I’m an open-mined but value my culture and
religion (I mean I’m not an orthodox, simply
follow traditions), I’m a friendly, warm,
compassionate and person of fun-loving nature
coupled with a seriously down to earth, sincere
and self-confident personality. I guess I’m quite
desi (simple) at heart, having been brought
up in a traditional family environment, but still
very culturally balanced; for me, this means
balancing the demands and attractions of western
life with a respectful understanding of my culture
and religion. I enjoy socializing, in particular
eating out and going to the movies; I like all
types of foods, particularly Italian and Chinese
(as well as Punjabi Foods), and inspirational and
motivating English movies. Musically, I listen to
all sorts but especially love literary
compositions. My favorite English movie remains "A
Beautiful Mind" which is based on Nobel laureate
economist Dr. John Nash of Princeton University. |
